SEASONAL CLEANSING TREATMENTS
The foundational treatments of Ayurveda, Abhyanga, Shirodhara and Marma, are good for everyone at all times. Their potency is enhanced by adding the support of Seasonal Cleansing Treatments, especially during seasonal changes. These are the most challenging times of year, as our bodies have to make a sudden shift from climate conditions adapted to over three months or longer. We are also at our highest state of "accumulation" (the first state of the disease process) at the end of a season. For instance, just as we feel we have no relief from the incessant heat of summer, indeed the body has no means of dumping the heat it absorbs day after day. So, it builds up and stores in our tissues. To counteract this, we receive Pitta relieving treatments during the summer, to provide an escape valve. At the beginning of Autumn, we shift to Vata pacifying treatments to keep the winds of Vata from fanning the flames of Pitta and to relieve us of harmful Vata accumulation.
